EN Born in Brescia in 1968. He works in Italy, France, and Germany. Stefano Bombardieri acquired his knowledge of artistic techniques and of the use of materials from his father. He initially approached figurative sculpture, influenced by the great masters of the 20th century. His later experimentations led him to develop a philosophical approach to art, treating themes such as time and its perception, or the experience of pain in Western culture. A significant element of his work is his attitude towards the animal kingdom and humanity’s role in the endangerment of animals. Many of his pieces depict suffering animals being tied up by humans. He makes an effort to be globally conscious in his works in order to raise awareness about these issues through his art, and inform the public while creating something beautiful and impressive.
His work starts from reality and then detaches from it, approaching fantastic universes and inner worlds. Aside from drawing inspiration from the great masters of sculpture, he is also inspired by the Arte Povera movement, Minimalism, video-installations, and Conceptual art.
FR Stefano Bombardieri est né à Brescia en 1968. Il travaille en Italie, France et Allemagne. L’artiste reçut son enseignement artistique et technique et sa maîtrise des matériaux dans l’atelier de son père. A ses débuts, son approche artistique tend vers la sculpture figurative, influencé par les maîtres du XX° siècle. Ses dernières recherches ont évolué vers une approche plus philosophique de l’art en traitant des sujets comme « le temps et sa perception » ou bien encore « l’expérience de la douleur dans la culture occidentale ». L’artiste part de la réalité pour aller vers des univers plus fantastiques et des mondes intérieurs. En plus des travaux de maîtres, l’artiste trouve son inspiration dans l’art pauvre, le minimalisme, les installations vidéos, l’art conceptuel. Depuis les années 90, Stefano Bombardieri produit des œuvres à grande échelle pour des espaces publics et privés.
